This Indenture made this fourth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven. Between Amos Williams Commissioner, appointed to make conveyance of the ... Estate of Nathan G. Henthorn, late of the County of Vermilion and State of Illinois, deceased, of the one part, and Abraham Barnhard of the County and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that whereas heretofore to wit: at the last October Term of the Circuit Court held in and for the County of Vermilion aforesaid, on a certain bill in Chancery, ... said there pending in said Court it was by said Court ordered and decreed as follows to wit:

Abraham Barnhard, complainant Viz. Molly Henthorn widow of Nathan G. Henthorn, deceased and James Henthorn, Matthew Henthorn, Janet Henthorn, Ephraim Henthorn, Susannah Henthorn, Elizabeth Henthorn and Nathan Henthorn all of whom are minors and heirs at law of Nathan G. Henthorn, deceased.

Petition for Conveyance: This cause came on to be heard upon the bill answers and exhibits filed herein, and the Court now here being fully advised and informed ... do order and decree, that the said Molly Henthorn shall make and execute a Deed of Conveyance for the following described Land lying and being in the County of Vermilion and State of Illinois to wit: the West Half of the South West quarter of Section No. One in Township Seventeen North of Range No. Eleven West, to Abraham Barnhard. And it is further ordered and decreed that upon the failure or refusal of the said Molly Henthorn, to execute the said Deed of Conveyance, with thirty days from the date ... that then and in that case if the said Molly Henthorn shall enter out bond to pay the sum of Thirty three Dollars and fifty cents to the administrate, of the Estate of said Nathan G. Henthorn, deceased so soon as one shall be appointed, then Amos Williams, be ... he is hereby appointed a Commissioner, to make and execute said Deed in manner and form aforesaid.

It is further ordered and decreed that the said Complainant pay the costs in this cause. Now therefore this Indenture, witneseth that pursuant to the direction and authority given by said order and decree the said, Amos Williams as Commissioner, aforesaid hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto said Abraham Barnhard, his heirs and assigns forever, the West Half of the South West quarter of Section No. One in Township No. Seventeen North of Range No. Eleven West, To Have And To Hold the same with all the privileges and appurtenances to him the said Abraham Barnhard, his heirs and assigns to his and their use and ... I Joseph Patterson one of the acting Justices of the Peace in and for the County do hereby certify that the above named Amos Williams, in the capacity of Commissioner, as mentioned in the foregoing Deed who was personally known to me to be the person whose name is subscribed to the foregoing Deed of Conveyance, as having executed the same this day in his proper person, came before me and acknowledged that he signed sealed and delivered the said Deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned.
