Henthorn, Peter of Boulder, CO

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (4/29/05)--The South Dakota Credit Union League has hired a longtime credit union consultant as its new CEO.

Effective June 5, Peter Henthorn of Boulder, Colo., will lead the league, according to Floyd Rummel, league chairman and president of Dakota Territory FCU, Deadwood.

Since 1979, Henthorn has operated his own business called Profit Motivators International, which worked with credit unions and independent community banks to improve operations.

Henthorn has "extensive knowledge of credit unions and is a high-energy person," Rummel told News Now. "He's a perfect match for our credit unions and will help the league and credit unions in South Dakota."

Henthorn will be introduced during the league's annual meeting May 19-20 in Aberdeen.

Leon Swenson, who had been serving as interim CEO since the retirement of Donald Couch in November, will return to his position as league field consultant.
