Vernon Anderson) The marriage of this couple is recorded in both Marshall and Wetzel counties. Wetzel county had not yet been formed at the time of their marriage. It was formed shortly thereafter. At one time marriages were recorded in the OMR (Old Marriage Records) Books. Later they were recorded into Marriage Bk1 and the dates are not always the same when the two sources are compared. These discrepancies can show up in both Marshall and Wetzel county marriage records.

EMIGRATION: Between 1862/1874 the family relocated to Minnesota. Later they returned to Buffalo Creek, WV. They were back in Wetzel County, WV by the time of the 1870 census.

CEMETERY: Hayes Bates and Lowe Cemetery, Jacksonburg, WV. Headstone inscription: HENRY PARSONS; BORN JAN 10, 1836; DIED FEB 20, 1882; AGED 46 YRS. 1 MO. 10 DAYS. "For I am now ready to be offered and time of departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight. I have finished by course, I have kept the faith."
