This Indenture made this twenty seventh day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirty eight between Thomas Foggin of the county of Monroe and State of Ohio of the one part and Jane Foggin & her three children Names as follows to wit Elizabeth Foggin Thomas Foggin and Robison Foggin of the County of Monroe and State of Ohio of the other part Witnefseth that the said Thomas Foggin for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars good and lawfull money to him in hand paid the recipt whereof is hereby acknowledged has granted bargained sold released conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell release convey confirm unto the said Jane Foggin and to the above same Elizabeth Thomas & Robison Foggins and to their heirs and afsigns A certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Monroe and State of Ohio and described as follows to wit. Begining for the same at the north east corner of section Sixteen thence west seventy three perches to white oak thence South thirty & a half degrees East sixty seven perches to a stone then South ten degrees west fifty six perches to a stone thence South forty eight degrees East Sixty one & one half perches to the section line thence north with the section line one hundred and fifty five perches to the place of Begining containing forty one acres one rod and five perches To have to hold the above granted and bargained premises with all and singular appurtenances and herediaments thereunto belonging unto them the said Jane Foggin Elizabeth Thomas & Robison and to their heirs and afsigns forever to have them and their only proper use and behoof forever and also the said Thomas Foggin do for himself & heirs exceutors and administrators covenant with Said Jane Foggin Elizabeth Thomas & Robison and to their heirs and afsigns that and until the unsealing of these presents he was ... well seized of the premises as a good and (indenfessable ?) estate in fee simple and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as above written and that the same was free from all encumberances whatever And further more he the said Thomas Foggin do by these presents bind himself and his heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises to the said Jane Foggin Elizabeth Thomas & Robison and to their heirs and afsigns against all claims and demands whatsoever & testimony whereof the said Thomas Foggin has her unto set his hand and seal the day and year above written, Signed Sealed & delivered in presence of}

The document will also include information about members of the Foggin family of Monroe county, Ohio and Wood county, West Virginia. There is a link between the Foggin family and the Henthorne family that migrated to Arkansas and Oklahoma.
