This Indenture made this ninth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety six between William Shepherd of the county of Ohio and state of Virginia of the one part & Susannah Hinthorn of the county and state aforesaid of the other part witneseth that the said William Shepherd for and in consideration of fourty pound to him in hand paid by the sd. Susannah Hinthorn before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained Sold alienednd & Confirmed and by these presents do give grant bargain sell alien and confirm to the sd. Susannah Hinthorn & hir heirs one parcel of Land in the county of Ohio & State aforesaid containing Seventy three Acres two Rod and twenty p.... and bounded as follow with (viz) Beginning at a Sugartree & running north Seventy three degrees and a half west 100 & 60 poles to a beeh Joining Lands of James Hinthorn thence south twenty nine degrees West 75 poles to white oak Joining Lands of William Stephenson thence south seventy three and a half degrees east one hundred and sixty poles to a sugar tree thence north 29 degrees east seventy five poles to the beginning with its appurtinances. The said Susannah Hinthorn hir heirs to the sole use and behoof of the said Susannah Hinthorn and hir heirs & said Wm. Shepherd do covenant with the said Susannah Hinthorn and hir heirs that the sd. Wm. Shepherd & his heirs and the sd. parcel of Land with it appurtainances unto hir the said Susannah Hinthorn her heirs executors Adminsitrators and assigns against all manner of person claiming or to claim the same shall warrant & forever defend by these present in witness whereof and sd. Wm. Shepherd has hereunto set his name and affixed his seal the day & year above written.
