RootsMagic Webinar #43

This morning I watched one of the RootsMagic webinars:
#43 New Online Publishing in RootsMagic6, dated 12 Feb 2013, length 47 minutes.

If you are using RootsMagic6 and have wished there was an easy way to share your genealogy information online, your wishes have been answered.  This version of this very powerful program now offers an option to create your own genealogy website and upload it to free webspace furnished by RootsMagic.

The webinar is very good, comprehensive and easy to understand with good visuals.

In the last couple of days I'd created a test website just by following the on screen instructions. Several questions that came to mind during the process were addressed during the webinar class.

Building a genealogy website with this tool eliminates the need to know anything about HTML and FTP.  If you don't know what those acronyms mean, don't worry about it.  Not needing to learn about this technical stuff is what makes this new RootsMagic option so attractive.

Access to your website is via your own URL which you furnish to others.

Here are some limits that were mentioned in the webinar:
  1. Two websites per user (if you have two Email addresses)
  2. 50Mb per website (a consideration if you have lots of photographs)
  3. 10 URL links to other webpages
